Corporate Express Junior Landcare Go Green Grant

Overview / Purpose

This program provides funding to support innovative projects that bring about education in environmental issues, focus on sustainability, promote recycling initiatives or help improve the natural environment of a school or local area.

The major objectives of this program are to:
- Actively engage children and young people in environmental initiatives and activities that aim to support and protect or repair the natural environment.
- Promote environmental leadership in school and youth group environments in a educational, fun and creative way.
- Encourage team work and environmental awareness outcomes for young people.
- Support of peer driven environmental education learning through cross curriculum engagement.
- Facilitate engagement between schools, Landcare groups, environmental groups, local government and local business.

Successful applicants will receive funding of up to $5,000 from a total funding pool of $75,000 .

Further to the grants program, teachers also have a chance to share in a $5,000 shopping spree with Corporate Express by entering the Go Green Shopping Spree competition. See the website for further details.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants include:
- Primary and high schools.
- Preschools and kindergartens.
- Youth groups.
- Landcare, Coastcare and environmental groups that work in partnership with a local school.

Assessment Criteria

Applications must demonstrate:
- Assistance to a local environmental issue that the group is currently tackling.
- Support of on-going maintenance of the project so as to ensure the school, students and the environment benefits into the future.
- Development of innovative ways to involve the wider community and increase involvement in their project and/or group.
- Where possible involvement of a local Landcare group and ability to increase interest and participation of ''junior landcarers'' in the Landcare movement.
- Active promotion and support of the Corporate Express-Landcare Australia partnership.
