Bega Valley Shire Council – Youth Week Grants Program

Overview / Purpose

This program seeks to support community members to work with young people to run free events and activities which celebrate the positive contribution of young people in the communities. It is intended to partially fund youth-focused activities that are held during Youth Week that will involve young people as well as a cross section of the community.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants are not-for-profit organisations including:
- Youth and community groups
- Churches
- Social/interest groups

Eligible Activities

Eligible activities include those which promote positive images of young people to the wider community.
Assessment Criteria

The main assessment criteria include whether the activities:
- Demonstrate the engagement of young people in the planning and delivery of activities.
- Demonstrate access to activities from a broad range of young people.
- Increase the community’s awareness of young people and the issues that are important to them.
- Identify opportunities and ideas with young people.
- Develop strategies to nurture these opportunities and ideas.
- Promote young people’s contributions to our community.
- Be delivered at no charge to participants.


Grants are not intended to pay for wages of host organisations staff.
